“Let my teaching fall like rain, and my words descend like dew, like showers on grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.” Deut. 32:2

VALENTINE EXCHANGE, TUESDAY FEB. 14.
Please have children 'just sign' their name and leave the envelopes blank so that they can deliver
their valentines to their friends independently Thanks.

I have posted a Volunteer Sign-up sheet for days that we really need an 'extra set of hands'.

Dear Parents,
Wow, January certainly went fast! Next week is Valentine’s Day. We will have a Valentine Exchange
on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Please have your child bring in a Valentine for each preschool friend. There are 10 children in each class. Just have them ‘sign’ their name, and leave the envelopes blank. That way each child can ‘deliver’ their own valentines into their friends bags independently.
With Valentine’s Day so close, we will be spending the next two weeks talking about ways to show love
. We will focus each week on the fact that Jesus loves children.
We will talk about how we can show love to others by being friends, sharing, using good manners, doing things that He wants us to do. Our color focus will be the color pink.
Next Tues., Feb. 14 will also be wear something pink day.
Monday in small groups we will use finger paints to see what happens when we mix red and white. We will use that to complete a craft on next Monday, reminding us that Jesus loves us.
We will also be decorating our Valentine Exchange bags.
Tuesday we will be doing a special activity with Mrs. Goehler’s 2nd grade class as we learn about ways to show love. We will make bird seed treats for the birds. This will be our ‘small group’ activity. If it all goes well, the children should be able to bring home a birdseed treat to hang in a tree for our ‘feathered friends’. If they don’t make it home on Tuesday, please look for them on Monday. They will need to be put in the refrigerator or freezer if they are not hung in a tree right away.
God’s Blessings,
Melinda Armstead

FROG (Fully Rely On God)

We should love each Other
(tune: Did you ever see a Lassie?)
Oh, we should love each other, each other, each other
Oh, we should love each other like Jesus loves us.
The tall ones, the short ones, the fat ones, the skinny ones,
Oh we should love each other like Jesus loves us!
Oh, we should love each other, each other, each other
Oh, we should love each other like Jesus loves us.
The old ones, the young ones and all of the middle ones,
Oh, we should love each other like Jesus loves us.

Jesus sure Loves You
Nod your head if you love Jesus,
Nod your head if you love Jesus,
Nod your head if you love Jesus,
Jesus sure loves you!
(continue with clap your hands, jump up and down, etc.)

You say you love your children,
And are concerned they learn today.
So am I; that’s why I’m providing
A variety of kinds of play.
You’re asking me the value
Of blocks and other such play?
Your children are solving problems.
They will use that skill everyday.
You’re asking what’s the value
Of having your children play?
Your daughter’s creating a tower.
She may be a builder someday.
You’re saying you don’t want your son
To play in that “sissy” way?
He’s learning to cuddle a doll.
He may be a father someday.
You’re questioning the learning centers;
They just look like useless play?
Your children are making choices;
They’ll be on their own someday.
You’re worried your children aren’t learning,
And later they’ll pay?
They’re learning a pattern for learning,
For they will be learners always.
