Dear Parents,

Welcome to preschool!!  I hope you are ready for a wonderful year that's filled with some memories that I hope will last a lifetime.  I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with your child.  I'm looking forward to a great year!

This week will be a week of getting to know one another and reviewing rules in the classroom and also expectations of the children when we leave the room and venture out into the school.  We will be reveiwing our schedule for the week and the children will have music today with our new music teacher, Mr. Baumgartner.

Show and tell will be on Friday and I would like the children to bring in their "All About Me" folders.  They were to complete the pages that were included.  I will be keeping these and will add to them throughout the year.

Attached you will find a permission slip for our first field trip on Sept. 24th.  Please sign and return it to me by next Thursday, the 16th.  If  you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at home, 419-636-2445, anytime before 10 p.m.  My cell number is 419-906-7326.  My email address is ldenoi@saintpatrickschoolbryan.org.

Next week we will be reviewing and having some fun with colors.  We will be doing our first science experiment, mixing different colors to see what new colors we can make!  We do not have school next Friday, the 17th. 

A reminder that if you have not completed the class, "Protecting Youth and Those Who Serve Them", you need to do so to be able to help in the classroom and/or attend field trips.  The class will be offered here at St. Patrick's on Sept. 11th, from 9-11 a.m., on Sept. 20th, from 7-9 p.m., and on Oct. 16th, from 9-11 a.m.  You need to only attend one of the dates listed and you need to contact the school office to register.

Dear Parents,

Students in preschool will be traveling to my parent's home in Ney, Ohio on Sept. 24th, 2010.  This field trip has been planned to allow the children to pick apples, make applesauce, and have some fun games related to apples.  We will also be harvesting Indian corn, gourds and pumpkins.  The morning class will be leaving approx. 9:10 a.m. and will be returning at approx. 11 a.m.  The afternoon class will be leaving approx. 12:30 p.m. and will be returning at approx 2:15 p.m.  Students will be bringing home some applesauce and will be able to share their experience with you.

Please sign and return the permission slip below by Sept. 16th, 2010.  We must have this permission slip to allow your student to attend this activity.  Also, all children need to be in a booster or car seat for them to attend this field trip.

Drivers are needed for this field trip.  I as your student's teacher or any other school personnel cannot drive for field trips.  If we do not have enough drivers, we will not be able to attend.  Please contact me if you are able to drive.

The morning program will be leaving at 9:10 a.m. and returning approx. 11 a.m.  The afternoon program will be leaving at 12:30 p.m. and returning approx. 2:15 p.m.  Everyone transporting Saint Patrick students must have their own insurance and are responsible for those who are riding in his/her vehicle.  As this student's parent or guardian, I release Saint Patrick School and Parish, Catholic Youth and School Services, and any associated person or agency from any claims in consideration for the opportunity to participate in this program.
