NEWS THIS WEEK

BLIZZARD BAGS

Dear Parents,

The Ohio Department of Education has mandated that teachers prepare a "Blizzard Bag" in case we miss more than 5 school days due to winter weather. If we miss 5 days due to inclement weather your child will bring home an envelope filled with lessons and review work to be completed at home on the next day off. REMINDERS

The second graders will be in charge of the pop tab collection for the Ronald McDonald House in Toledo. The containers are in place and the second graders have filled one already!! YEAH!!

This week is a very busy week. We will be working on our Science Fair project each day. We may not have our regular classes depending on the time it takes to gather data and learn about buoyancy. Be sure to ask your child what they have learned! Each student is bringing home a paper bag to choose an item that they will try in our fresh water and salt water. They have prepared the bags to circle their guess.

On Tuesday, January 31 our class will be attending the concert at the Arts and Ed building. They students are asked to wear church clothes. We have parents helping to drive us to and from so that we are not too late for lunch.

Our next visit to Hillside is on Monday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m.

February 14 will be our Valentine's Party. Let me know if you have any ideas or would like to help out!

Oberlin Recycling Center

I went to the recycling center. I saw half of my pool. They recycled ashpalt, wood, steel, metal, concrete, and nails. They crushed wood and made it into mulch. They had a thing that you can get on and it will weigh you.
It was fun! I had a great time!
