1. Webquest: Go to www.mathgoodies.com/webquests/ and click on "Exponents and Scientific Notation" to complete the webquest!! Have fun!!! You will need to print off the worksheets on the site.(This should take 2-40 mintue periods if we did it in school)
2. Online activity: Go to www.infohio.org; click on "Grades 6-8" then scroll down to "First Gov for Kids" tab. On the right side of the page is "Hot Topics" . Click on Government tab, scroll down to "Census for Teens" and proceed through the site. Another site under "Hot Topics" is in the American History tab. Click on it and scroll down to "Architect's Virtual Capital" to tour the Capital!!! Have a fun adventure!! Please write a one to two page journal entry on your "experiences."( This should take 2-3 40 minutes periods if we were in school)
3. Writing prompt: You have the following items in your possession: a pencil, shoe lace, cracker, spoon, newspaper, and toothpaste. Take these items and decide how you could write a story using all of these items. Try to make a connection. Use humor, exaggeration, details etc. to write a short story. (This would take 3- 40 minute periods: prewrite, rough draft and final draft- TYPED!!!)
4. Construct a graffiti prayer based on the reading from Matthew 22: 34-40. (This should take one period)
5. Choose a President (#1-16) and create a Prezis based on his early life, political life and post-political life. (This should take 4-5 class periods to complete if done in school. Make sure you research THREE sources before you start and note those sources!!!) You must include pictures as well as text!!
6. Complete your Confirmation Booklet!!! (This should take you two-hours at least!!!)
7. Read for AR!!!!!
